Panago is a national pizza delivery and takeout chain with over 190 locations across Canada.
Panago went through a digital transformation where we supported them in helping to re-invent their online and mobile presence.
As we crafted the ecosystem, we quickly realized that it had to be able to adapt to a high amount of change and customizability to support a stream of constant new offerings. The system also had to be designed with operations and support in mind from day 1 as it quickly became a mission critical piece to Panago's business.
The project had many moving parts as it featured deep integration with internal legacy systems and the creation of a brand new API layer that would support Panago's new online properties. This core set of services were eventually extended as we utilized service oriented architecture to help bring structure and resilience to the backend ecosystem.
Panago's systems are mission critical, and as such Latero Labs worked directly with the IT team to craft a DevOps strategy that resulted in a scalable and resilient deployment of the ecosystem. Real-time monitoring, highly load balanced servers, self-healing processes and multiple strategies for automated backups are among a few of the things that we have implemented to ensure uptime and quality of service.
One of the goals of the project from the beginning was to share as much of the codebase as possible in a unified manner. Since the platform would need to be available on the web, as well as mobile (iOS/Android), the team utilized the power of React / ReactNative on the frontend to reduce duplication, and to help maintain a consistent look and feel.
